Hitting?
Hitting? is part of my Sze you tomorrow project, exploring unresolved emotions
and personal release. When my friend Szeto ghosted me without explanation, I was left with frustration and unanswered questions. Inspired by Hong Kong’s villain-hitting ritual (打小人), this project transforms an act of cursing into a ritual for processing emotions. Participants are free to hit, tear, or engage in any way they choose, not only confronting lost connections but also their personal struggles—transforming intangible emotions into physical expression. It is not about revenge but letting go, confronting absence, stress, or uncertainty through movement. At the show, a three-sided video projection will feature recordings of different participants interacting with the project. Visitors are also welcome to take part directly in the space. Bricks and slippers are provided so people can engage however they feel moved to.
